We sent out a release earlier, very chuffed about a new client, which was kindly run by Features Exec in their Media Bulletin. Unfortunately, whilst editing the story they made a slight error that changed the meaning rather dramatically (it suggested they were working for us rather than the other way around).
It was a typo so small (yet so significant) that we didn’t notice ourselves when we tweeted the story – and yet, within two minutes I had a call from the lovely and ever vigilant Ceri at Cerub PR pointing it out.
Social Media moves so fast it is sometimes overwhelming – the lesson here is to be even more focused on ensuring messages are correct before distribution when using such tools. This was a fairly minor mistake and easily rectified with the delete key and a call to the helpful team at Features Exec – is it any wonder several people have made complete fools of themselves with poorly considered tweets – news has never travelled so fast.
And finally this post has rather strangely made me think of the opening to Douglas Adams’ fifth book in the Hitch Hiker Guide to the Galaxy trilogy…
