Tecnoconference supports United Nations forum

Congress Rental Network (CRN) member Tecnoconference recently provided simultaneous congress system support for the Sixth Session of the World Urban Forum, organised by the United Nations.

The forum, held in Naples, Italy, from 1-7 September was attended by 7,000 delegates – a record number for the event – including ministers, mayors, diplomats, academics and experts from more than 150 countries.

The World Urban Forum is the largest international event discussing urbanisation, and was established by UN-Habitat, the UN agency targeted with monitoring the problem of rapid urban development of cities and its impact on the environment.

As technology partner for the event, Tecnoconference provided simultaneous audio and video support across the forum’s meeting rooms, including 22 simultaneous translation systems and cameras to project speakers onto a big screen in the main event hall. In addition, Tecnoconference installed more than 170 computers and 50 equipped offices which were reserved for internal meetings.

CRN is the world’s leading network of congress systems suppliers with 39 members across 37 countries around the world. Potential members undergo a strict vetting process in order that high standards are maintained.

Tecnoconference was founded in 1983 and provides a global solution service which ranges from communication technology for congresses, multimedia production and training courses, to audiovisual installation.

Jacopo Tagliabue, Senior Business Manager at Tecnoconference, comments: “We have many years experience in managing large events, such as the Sixth Session of the World Urban Forum.
