New Porter Air route confirms Toronto’s two centre luxury incentive offering

Porter Air, the luxury business airline servicing 19 cities across Canada and the United States has begun a new daily route between Washington DC and Toronto.

With flights landing at the Toronto Island Airport, just ten minutes from the downtown and Yorkville areas, they offer swift and direct access to the city’s highlights and range of luxury hotels, including the recently opened Trump International Hotel and forthcoming Shangri-La Toronto and Four Seasons Toronto.

Tourism Toronto‘s director of corporate sales, Julie Holmen:  “The rapid growth of Porter Air has created a new market for high-end incentive groups looking to experience Toronto.  The easy access from the island airport as well as short flight times to other luxury destinations (New York – 1 hour; Chicago – 1 hour) has generated a wealth of two centre enquiries.  We are seeing groups from all over the world interested in tying up Toronto based events with New York and Washington as well as Canada’s other well known locations such as Mont Tremblant.  In some cases the very high end incentives are considering a Toronto based event with day trips to other cities.”

In particular, two centre incentive trips have seen the appeal in the business quality flights, business quality island airport and minimal transfer times.

Christina Ramsey, director of sales and marketing, Park Hyatt: “Porter has had a very positive effect on the city, the entire Porter experience is simple and sophisticated and aligns well with our luxury brand.  It is already having a significant impact on business with groups able to fly in from multiple locations right into the heart of the city and minutes from their destination.”

Julie concludes: “Guest can literally leave a high end hotel such as the Windsor Arms or Park Hyatt and be checked in for their flight and through security twenty minutes later.  Porter Air really is one of the city’s luxury success stories and we look forward to hearing details of additional routes in the future.”
