Licence to thrill – event agencies enjoy private viewing of “Designing 007: 50 years of Bond style”

Barbican teams, including Business Events, Barbican International Enterprises and Searcy’s come together to deliver Bond

themed event to more than 50 agency experts.

Barbican, head of sales, Samme Allen: “We wanted to bring together a selection of the country’s top agencies and demonstrate not just the Barbican’s event offering but how we can work creatively and effectively across the whole centre to deliver truly unforgettable events.  The evening came together flawlessly, with everyone sampling a perfect blend of food, drink and artistic entertainment.”

The event was organised by the Barbican Business Events sales team around a private viewing of the highly acclaimed “Designing 007: 50 years of Bond style” exhibition, which opened at the Barbican in July, 2012.

After welcome drinks, networking and canapés in the Barbican’s Conservatory, Samme Allen gave a short introduction to the event before allowing the 52 agency guests in attendance time to enjoy the unique atmosphere and content of the exhibition.  With a short stop for dessert midway through the evening, the guests finished their journey at the Bond themed Martini Bar to reflect on the venues perfect balance between the creative arts and commercial events.

Amongst others in attendance at the event were:

Grassroots-HBI, Consultant – Venue Procurement, Irene Kwint, “Thank you very much for a fantastic evening last night. It was a pleasure to meet you and finally visit the Barbican. Even though I like to pretend not to be a proper Bond fan (I do know Jaws is not the shark), the exhibition was a great excuse to come and experience what the Barbican can achieve when all the teams pull together.”

“It was definitely clear from the inevitable Bond Martini’s (shaken, not stirred) that the business, creative and catering teams “mix” perfectly!”

“I knew you had a Garden Conservatory but I didn’t realise it was an actual jungle! Having the welcome reception there set the mood for the rest of the evening and after seeing the whole exhibition the Martini Bar was the perfect place to close the night off.”

“Thank you again and I am looking forward to placing the next event at the Barbican!”

Samme Allen concludes: “This event would not have been possible without the help and support of departments across the whole of the venue.  Searcy’s provided our visitors with superb, canapés, desserts and cocktails; our International Enterprises team provided exclusive access to the James Bond exhibition; the event dynamic and flow was orchestrated and managed by the Business Events sales team; whilst the whole thing was brought together by the fantastic Business Events operations experts.  Thank you to everyone for all your hard work.”
