CSR and sustainable event growth increases sales for Nexus Collections

Nexus Collections, the world’s leading manufacturer of environmentally friendly conference bags, has seen a dramatic increase in sales of their “green bags” during the course of the last two years, with 250,000 sold in 2011.

Nexus launched the world’s first green conference bag in 2007, since when they have gone on to develop an extensive range of recycled, recyclable/biodegradable and responsibly sourced conference bags.  To accompany this range, Nexus has also created a range of environmentally friendly pens, note pads and USB memory sticks.

Nexus latest sales figures show that in the last year they have sold more than 250,000 environmentally friendly bags, which represents just under 60% of the company’s annual output. Other key statistics include:

* 22% – Number of sustainable (Jute) bags sold.  This particular range is based on the original “green bag”, developed by Nexus in 2006-2007 under the guidance of GMIC and MCI Group. * 17% – Number of recycled ( PET ) bags sold * 20% – Number of degradable bags sold * Now making an impact on sales of sustainable lanyards and USB’s too

Nexus Collections, managing director, Nick Jones:  “Nexus has always been committed to the environment, from our UK based headquarters to our operations in China we implement and devise new sustainable ideas to improve not just our end product but also our way of doing business.  To see this hard work reflected in our sales figures is truly rewarding and we look forward to a time when environmentally friendly products make up 100% of our sales.”

“These figures represent the actual units sold.  From an enquiry point of view, requests for environmentally friendly products run to about 65%, clearly showing that a lot of the smaller events are investing in the green products, whilst the largest events, where the bags are often ordered years in advance are taking longer to react.”

Nexus Collections will be exhibiting at International Confex on Stand No. G320.
