November busiest month ever for LSO St Luke’s

LSO St Luke’s, a stylish and sophisticated venue in the heart of London, has experienced its busiest month on record. In just seven days the venue was used for an awards ceremony, a concert, a board meeting, various education workshops, a fashion show and a rehearsal space, demonstrating its ability to cater for a wide variety of events.

During November, all of LSO St Luke’s available hire dates were sold with 35% accounting for corporate and private events. This follows on from news that the venue saw a jump in occupancy levels in their 2010/2011 financial year, from 78% to 85%. Alongside improvements in the market, the venue attributes its success to new investments and developments in its sales and marketing strategy.

LSO St Luke’s sales and events manager Victoria Steinitz comments: “November was an extremely successful month for us. The results are particularly pleasing given the current economic climate. In order to increase occupancy rates, venues need to make the most of the space available. By increasing our capacity in the Jerwood Hall we’ve been able to meet the requirements of our clients, ensuring new business is won and existing business retained. Increasing our occupancy levels is a big step forward for LSO St Luke’s. We look forward to continuing success in 2012 and hope to increase the number of events we hold, in particular those held in the evening.”

LSO St Luke’s is one of London’s most unusual venues. The 18th-century, Grade 1 listed Hawksmoor church was restored to become the home of the London Symphony Orchestra’s community and music education programme. However it continues to grow in popularity as a venue for conferences, meetings and events. With a capacity of up to 450 in the Jerwood Hall, it is ideal for a wide variety of events.
