Event professionals invited to join Bath and Bristol Events Network

Event industry professionals are being invited join the next Bath and Bristol Events Network get-together, which will be held at The Francis Hotel, Bath, on Monday 16th September (5.30 -8pm).

The network was set up by Francois de la Croix-Vaubois, of Frog Events, in January with the aim of bringing together event professionals – including corporate event planners, event management agencies, DMCs, marketing companies, venues and suppliers – in the Bristol and Bath area. This will be the group’s fifth meeting, with more than 300 people attending its events to date.

The guest speaker at the meeting will be Nick Brooks-Sykes, Chief Executive of Bath Tourism Plus, who will be sharing his thoughts on the outlook of the events and hospitality industry in the city, and how event professionals can get involved in its growth.

Francois de la Croix-Vaubois comments: “With so many event professionals based in the Bristol and Bath area, I wanted a way of bringing people together. The Bath and Bristol Events Network has been well received and is a great way for people to keep up to date with the latest in events business, make new contacts and explore new venues. Anybody involved with the events industry is welcome to join and we look forward to seeing even more new faces in September.”

Nick Brooks-Sykes, Chief Executive of Bath Tourism Plus, comments: “It is important to have a forum which enables professional event organisers to meet, swap ideas and do business. And I’m pleased to have the opportunity to participate in the next Bath and Bristol Events Network. There has been an enthusiastic response to our previous meetings and I shall be using the next meeting to brief the audience on the latest research on Corporate Business to Bath, and outlining how Bath Tourism Plus is working proactively with our partners to attract more corporate business from London.”

John Willcock, General Manager at The Francis Hotel, says: “I am delighted to be hosting Bath and Bristol Events Network at The Francis as it gives more people the opportunity to come in and take a look at what the hotel looks like since last year’s refurbishment. Not everyone is aware of the event facilities we have in the hotel so we are excited to be showcasing them on the day. It’s important to attend networking events such as Bath and Bristol Events Network as everyone present will benefit as it is specifically aimed at professionals in the events industry.”

Events are held quarterly, alternating between Bristol and Bath. The objectives of the network are to build and nurture business relationships, develop event knowledge and best practice and drive event business in an informal environment. Sponsors of the meetings include Frog Events, FAB!, Floriture and Soaring Worldwide.
