The Eastside Rooms has welcomed Chris Reynolds to the team as Business Development Director, strengthening the venue’s sales and relationship-building expertise as it continues to grow its presence across the meetings, events and hospitality sectors.
Chris joins with extensive experience across hospitality, events and business development, having worked with leading brands including Malmaison, Hotel du Vin, Moxy Hotels and Marriott Hotels. His career began in event agency roles with tobook and Conference Care, before moving into proactive account management and working with major blue-chip clients.
In his new role, Chris will focus on identifying and developing new business opportunities for The Eastside Rooms and Aloft Birmingham Eastside, building relationships across local, regional and national markets, and supporting clients looking for flexible, high-quality event solutions in Birmingham.
Talking about the new role, Chris said: “The opportunity to represent such a versatile venue and hotel was a huge attraction for me. The Eastside Rooms offers a purpose-built event space in the heart of Birmingham, alongside the strength of an adjoining Marriott-branded hotel. It is a combination that allows us to support everything from large-scale conferences to corporate meetings, awards, dinners and more bespoke experiences.
“The meetings and events industry is changing all the time. In many ways, one of the biggest trends is that there are no fixed trends, which means venues need to stay flexible, adaptable and ready to respond quickly to what clients need. That is where The Eastside Rooms is so strong. It has the space, the location, the team and the technical support to help organisers create events that really work.”
The Eastside Rooms offers 23 flexible meeting and event spaces, including the Affinity Suite, Birmingham’s largest pillar-free ballroom, with capacity for up to 1,200 delegates. The venue is also directly connected to the 195-bedroom Aloft Birmingham Eastside, part of the Marriott group, creating an integrated conference, meetings and accommodation offer in Birmingham’s Eastside district.
Tim Sparrow, General Manager at The Eastside Rooms, added: “Chris brings exactly the right combination of hospitality experience, commercial understanding and people-first relationship building to this role. His background across agencies, hotels and major hospitality brands gives him a strong understanding of what clients need from a venue partner, not just during the sales process but throughout the full event journey.
“As The Eastside Rooms continues to build its reputation as one of the Midlands’ leading destinations for conferences, meetings and events, Chris will play an important role in helping us develop new opportunities, strengthen our networks and continue delivering the warm, professional and flexible service our clients expect.”
Located in Birmingham city centre, The Eastside Rooms combines modern event facilities, on-site AV support, flexible spaces and direct hotel access, making it a destination for conferences, meetings, exhibitions, awards and association events.
Chris will be attending The Meetings Show from 24-25 June, 2026 on stand B53.
