Industry leaders head up panel for MPI Young Achievers Award

Zibrant, Powwow and p&mm are three of the big name companies on the judging panel for MPI UK and Ireland Chapter’s Young Achievers Awards, which will take place on Monday, June 10th.

The awards will be held at The Grand Connaught Rooms, London, and attended by meeting industry professionals. The focus of the Young Achievers Awards is to connect upcoming talent with the industry by providing the opportunity to meet key-figures, network and show case their talents and skills. Now in its 4th year, teams from universities across the country go head-to-head in a live bid presentation based on a real-life agency event brief.

The teams will be judged by a panel of five senior meetings industry professionals including Richard Parker (Zibrant), Amanda Edgecumbe (Powwow) and Chris Clarke (p&mm). The event is being sponsored by Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau (SCIB) and partners St.Gallen-Bodensee Tourismus, Bregenz Festival House and Convention Partner Vorarlberg.

The panel will, based on the proposal and pitch, decide on the winning team. The winning team not only walks away with the prestigious Swiss Cow Trophy but their efforts were rewarded with a trip to Switzerland. Previous winners include the University of Westminster and Leeds Metropolitan University.

Samme Allen, president of the UK and Ireland Chapter and head of sales at the Barbican, comments: “The Young Achievers Award is MPI UK & Ireland’s way of showcasing the fantastic young talents who are the future of the meetings industry. The platform the awards provide is an invaluable source of networking for students, giving them an unrivalled reach to a wide audience of industry professionals. Each year the quality of entries gets better and better and I look forward to seeing what this year’s finalists have to offer. I would like to thank the Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau, and their partners St.Gallen-Bodensee Tourismus, Bregenz Festival House and Convention Partner Vorarlberg, as without their support we would not be able to showcase the talent of tomorrow.”
