Searcys at Vintners’ Hall welcomed The Duchess of Cornwall yesterday where Her Royal Highness (HRH) was installed as a Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Vintners. The Duchess, who is President of the United Kingdom Vineyard Association and renowned for her work within this field, continues to promote the English wine industry in its successful development throughout the globe.
During the visit, Searcys showcased the venue’s grandeur, facilities and its creative catering skills to the Duchess. Royal visits go back centuries at Vintners’ Hall, which is steeped in the history of the wine trade in this country, and to this day is known as the industry’s ‘spiritual home’.
Robin Tolley, General Manager for Searcys at Vintners’ Hall, said: “We were delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness to Vintners’ Hall and to see her installed as a Liveryman. It was an exciting day for all involved”.
Following the visit, The Duchess of Cornwall will host a reception for producers and supporters of the UK wine industry to celebrate the association’s 50th anniversary at the royal residence, Clarence House in London.
