FloodKit® is launching a range of flood protection products at the upcoming Flood Prevention Expo on the 14th/15th October at ExCeL London.
The kit is designed to secure a property for as little as £400 making flood prevention easily affordable for homeowners and businesses.
“There is a perception that flood prevention can cost the earth, but in reality that is just not the case,” comments Hugh Mathew, Managing Director of FloodKit. “Flood prevention using sandbags was previously seen as the number one option by councils when protecting homes and businesses but our products offer a more affordable and effective option. Homeowners must plan for flooding in advance and it is absolutely possible to protect your home without breaking the bank. The products will be launched and available to purchase at the Flood Prevention Expo in October.”
FloodKit has worked with the University of Central Lancashire for more than three years developing an affordable kit that performs beyond current Standards. The kit includes:
• Doorway Protection – The FloodKit Doorway protection is remarkably simple in concept and delivery using a waterproof barrier panel with flexible seals and various fixing methods including an easy to fit door frame clips and the unique FloodFoam®. • Airbrick Protection – There are two airbrick protection products available. The first of which is the Floodseal airbrick cover which is a specially formulated, self adhesive patch which can be applied in seconds and offers protection to all non-standard air bricks. A wire brush, waterproof primer and a special roller are also included to ensure the flexible patch forms a perfect seal. The second product is a reusable plate that can be easily fitted and removed from a standard sized air brick without the need for any tools. • Overflow Pipes – A set of patches to take account of overflow pipes close to the ground and satellite/telephone cable entry points. • Downstairs Toilet Device – The patented FloodKit device for downstairs toilets is fitted in minutes and has been rigorously tested to withstand back flow from soil pipes as a result of flooding. • Downstairs Shower Unit Device – The FloodKit shower product is another solution to ensure water does not rise through a shower unit.
“The FloodKit Concept is about educating people,” added Geoff Green, Sales Director of FloodKit. “We aim to make people aware of how they can help themselves before the worst happens. Many customers are more than willing to spend upwards of £400 on a security alarm, so why not flood prevention? FloodKit’s comprehensive collection of products can significantly reduce the effect that floods can have on people’s lives.”
FloodKit will be on stand F152 at the Flood Prevention Expo at ExCeL London and will be on hand to demonstrate their products to interested groups such as environment agencies, councils, water authorities, emergency services and housing associations amongst others.
FloodKit offers a complete range of affordable, easy to use products to protect residential and commercial properties from the risk of flooding. Further information about FloodKit products can be found at www.floodkit.co.uk.
