etc.venues continues expansion drive with £600k investment in new venue

Despite the tougher markets etc.venues is continuing its expansion with the creation of “Illuminate”, a new event space next to their existing London Bridge  venue Prospero House.  The venue will open in August this year and have a capacity of 300 for a range of event types. The property is currently undergoing major refurbishment  after a £600k investment.

Illuminate @ Prospero House will be created out of a period building near the trendy Borough market, maintaining the traditional  facade whilst creating an ultra modern event and conference space inside.

The new venue takes etc.venues into a wider market as the size of the room, technical capabilities and layout will allow for product launches, dinner events, parties, awards ceremonies and conferences requiring space for larger sets.  Whilst the venue will be linked to Prospero House next door, providing greater flexibility and an extensive range of breakout spaces, Illuminate will also have a separate entrance and registration area.  Up to 20% of the overall budget  is focused on the provision of hi-tech AV equipment – even linking the rooms in Prospero House to Illuminate with sound and video.

Alastair Stewart, managing director, etc.venues : “Even in current markets there is still a real demand for innovative and well designed new venues in London.  It’s a perfect venue for our entrepreneurial outlook and our fast growing brand with great light, huge ceiling height and all the etc.venues design touches.  It is going to open new markets for us in events with capacities of up to 600 on the ground floor at Prospero House.”

Bookings for pre-opening and hard-hat show-rounds are available.  Clients and press viewing the venue prior to opening will receive a Sun Jar – reflecting not only the venue’s name but also the abundant natural daylight  and innovative lighting schemes designed for the space.
