The Cairns Convention Centre will be attending IMEX Frankfurt, inviting global planners and event professionals to visit their stand and discover what sets this award-winning Centre apart. With a renewed focus on sustainability, world-class facilities, and an enviable natural setting, the Centre continues to lead the way in global business events.
Attendees are encouraged to meet Wayne Smith, Business Development Director on stand B290 to hear firsthand of the Centre’s successes following the opening of its $176 million expansion. Since its launch, the extended Centre has elevated Cairns’ profile as a premier destination for international Conferences, attracting a high calibre of events, including Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Congress, AUS-oMicS Conference, International Bat Research Conference and the Viruses of Microbes Conference – hosted outside Europe for the first time.
Adding to its growing global appeal, Cairns will also host the prestigious CAPA Airline Leader Summit Asia Pacific 2025. Set to take place from July 31 to August 1, the summit will convene key aviation and business leaders to explore the future of regional and global connectivity – a fitting match for a destination now more accessible than ever.
Janet Hamilton, General Manager of the Cairns Convention Centre, said, “IMEX provides the perfect opportunity for us to showcase the momentum the Centre and region have built in recent years. From cutting-edge conferences to the implementation of meaningful sustainability initiatives, Cairns is a world-class destination and our Centre reflects that.”
Set between two UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the Great Barrier Reef and the world’s oldest continuously surviving tropical rainforest – the Centre integrates modern infrastructure with a deep connection to its environment and culture. Delegates attending events in Cairns are treated not only to state-of-the-art facilities but also to a Centre that embraces the local landscape, First Nations culture, and culinary excellence, including eco-conscious menus celebrating regional produce.
The Centre’s success is underpinned by its commitment to environmental and social responsibility. It offers initiatives such as the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program, local ecosystem restoration partnerships through Reforest, and comprehensive accessibility features – all aligning with the Centre’s focus on sustainability, inclusion, and a sense of place.
With new direct international flight routes – including improved access via Fiji Airways from North America – reaching Cairns has never been easier. The Centre’s proximity to Cairns Airport and vibrant city amenities ensures a seamless and memorable delegate experience.
