Horseradish, one of the market’s newest event and hospitality suppliers, has been appointed by the National Trust to run events at one of its flagship properties in the North West – Speke Hall.

Significant investment has been made at the property as part of the partnership, including the construction of a marquee pavilion within the venue’s picturesque grounds which has a capacity for 200 people and will increase the Hall’s capacity to deliver wedding receptions, something which has been previously limited. The pavilion features a terraced drinks deck and has been built in response to the growing demand for additional event facilities at Speke Hall.

Speke Hall marquee pavilion offers versatile event spaces for a wide variety of corporate and consumer clients. The partnership will see Horseradish delivering a range of event services including sales, catering and operations. A number of bookings have already been taken for the Pavilion, which has opened for business this month.  Speke Hall’s other primary event space is the Tudor Great Hall  which can accommodate up to 60 people and holds a civil ceremonies’ license.

Located on the banks of the River Mersey, Speke Hall provides an unique and iconic backdrop for a wide variety of corporate and private events. The breath-taking timber-framed manor house was built by the Norris family during a turbulent religious period and is an outstanding example of Tudor architecture. It was restored in the 19th century and offers a beautiful mixture of Tudor simplicity and Victorian Arts and Crafts’ aesthetics.

Horseradish, part of the Chester Race Company portfolio of brands, delivers first-class event services, venue management and catering solutions for a broad portfolio of clients. Speke Hall is just one of the venues in its expanding portfolio of creative and unusual spaces which are capable of holding events from two to 45,000 people.

Simon Osborne, General Manager of Speke Hall said; “We’re delighted to be working with Horseradish on this exciting venture.  Speke is an iconic building, enjoyed by many thousands of visitors each year and this new partnership will enable us to increase the opportunities for events on property, in particular weddings and other functions which involve large numbers of people.”

Angus Wilson, Head of Catering at Horseradish, comments; “The news that we have been appointed to organise exclusive hospitality events at Speke Hall marks a significant addition to our growing portfolio. The construction of the new marquee pavilion is particularly exciting as we begin to plan for the 2015 event season and we look forward to hosting many events throughout our partnership. We’re delighted to be working with one of the UK’s most recognised brands and delivering events for private and corporate clients at such an iconic venue.”

In addition to Speke Hall, Horseradish’s diverse portfolio of unique and exciting venues includes: Chester Racecourse, Chester Town Hall, Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, Chester Cathedral, Tatton Park, The Llangollen International Pavilion and The Table Collection (Tabley House).
